Le nord de Gran Canaria est d'une beauté naturelle sans fin. Cette visite est axée sur cette partie souvent négligée du trésor de l'île. Vous visiterez le plus grand jardin botanique d'Espagne, une plantation de bananes. David, l'un de nos guides locaux, explique : "Les "platanos" sont notre fruit national, elles sont le symbole des Canaries. Les explorateurs qui se rendaient aux Amériques emportaient des bananes vertes qui mûrissaient en route. Nous en avons tellement exporté vers la Grande-Bretagne que Canary Wharf, à Londres, nous doit son nom".

La première étape vous invite à vous enfoncer dans la biodiversité de cette île qui ressemble à un continent. Planté à flanc de colline, le Jardín Canario ou "Jardín Botánico Viera y Clavijo" est le plus grand jardin botanique d'Espagne, comptant plus de 2 000 espèces de plantes, dont 500 sont endémiques à l'île. Vous ferez une visite des terrains bordés d'arbres et apprendrez tout sur les efforts de conservation et le programme d'éducation environnementale de l'initiative. La prochaine étape est une plantation de bananes, où vous découvrirez 13 variétés de plantains du monde entier.

La dernière étape comprendra une visite guidée du charmant village de Firgas, un ensemble de ruelles bordées de maisons canariennes traditionnelles. Vous explorez les rues photogéniques avec votre guide, qui vous expliquera la présence de tant de fontaines dans cette petite ville.
